Memoir | An Anxious Mind
There you are, my familiar bane.
Quick with a knife, yet slow to drain.
The smile on my face, now layers back screams,
As this beautiful disaster discloses at the seams.
For a manipulative madness infects my tangled thoughts
Critiques and contorts them ‘til their consistency rots.
As a poetic memoir alliterating a mind’s misuse,
while enfolding on my stress like a masochistic muse.
Unable, for this moment, to martyr another’s guilt–
So again, I fall from a pedestal l never knew was built.
Beautiful you,
Would you believe I once was beautiful, too?
But, Could you whisper, now, that you love me?
