Change With Time
I hate you time, we are the same,
We learned to love in a different way.
And as that way may consume the mind,
I cannot stay, I change with time.
Now, Now, before it’s then,
Now that those times can’t come again.
Oh how long it’s always been,
When you’re living in thoughts of ‘remember when?’
Seconds, minutes, hours, days,
Control life like a one-way maze,
Setting the past of our paths ablaze,
So that every lap feels like a phase.
But we can’t always question our ways,
As life is not a step away,
or what lies beyond our immediate gaze.
Life is change, and change seeks truth,
To value honesty as much as proof,
To find a balance between naïve and sleuth,
As to not waste away our chance at youth.
We should chase the sun until we’re sore,
Walk along the ocean floor,
Voyage, venture, quest, explore,
Search for wisdom, then seek more…
