Bird’s Eye View

Search for meanings in mountains,
Observing from the sky.
Ranges like encryptions,
To decode as I fly.
My path becomes clearer
When viewed from so high.
But this connection is different,
And I may never see why.
An ascent to more hellos?
Or an eventual goodbye?
And why with answers uncertain
Am I so willing to try?
Trample the trials,
To see the look in your eye–
When you realize I don’t scare,
Even from the risks that apply.
When others test our truth,
And I see through the lie.
When the norms go against us,
Yet we never comply.
All will be worth it,
For that look in your eye—
When you realize I’m a constant,
when all other consistencies die.
